The Department of Culture is pleased to present – Project Grant Writing Workshop for Artists and Arts Organizations. Due to popular demand, Carolyn Bell Farrell has graciously offered us two dates to facilitate this workshop. Content will be the same for each workshop, so you only need to register for one of them. If you have already pre-registered, there is no need to RSVP to this email unless you need to change the date or are no longer available to attend.
Ø Tuesday, November 6, 2012 – 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
City Hall, 70 Collier Street, Huronia A & B Room, 2nd Floor
Ø Tuesday, November 13, 2012 – 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm
City Hall, Collier Street, Sir Robert Barrie Room, 2nd Floor
Carolyn Bell Farrell of the MacLaren Art Centre will facilitate both grant writing workshops. With over twenty years of experience in grant writing, both as an assessor and a successful applicant, Carolyn will share her insights for developing a winning case. Participants will be introduced to how grants are completed and juried through reviewing sample project grant applications submitted by artists and arts organizations.
Topics include the application components, such as the artist statement/organizational mandate, evaluation/measure of success, the schedule of work, the budget and support material, as well as the adjudication process and managing grant outcomes.
There is no cost for the workshop, however you must pre-register by calling the Department of Culture at 705-739-4299 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
