Happy New Year and 3TY

Hello and Happy New Year’s Eve 2013/2014!

Chad Ballantyne and I just finished a very productive Skype session that cleared a few things off his “to do” list and made it possible for me to begin blogging on our new website for the Barrie Arts & Culture Council.  Thank you Chad, for the tutorial and the new playground upon which to begin the New Year!

If you haven’t already done so please join us on Facebook (Barrie Arts & Culture Council group page) and show us some “like”.   And if you haven’t set up your profile on the Barrie Arts Network we hope you will do so in the near future.

In early January we’ll be sharing a lot of news about which we’re very excited.

Some of it has to do with ART CE SOIR, some of it has to do with a DIRECTORY/CALENDAR, some of it has to do with our ANNUAL OPEN HOUSE (including elections and AGM) on April 28th, and ALL of it has to do with the feedback that we received on September 10th at the FUTURE OF THE ARTS open house at the Mady Centre.  Since that date we’ve experienced a wonderful surge in communication, membership and volunteerism as the newly revitalized Board of Directors begins to develop committees, portfolios and initiatives for the next 12 – 18 months.

A great big thank you to the existing Board of Directors and the founders of the BACC (who now move into an Advisory Council capacity) for the years of work that have gone into developing the Barrie Arts Network and laying the groundwork that will enable the BACC to become the “hub” for artists and arts activities throughout Barrie and Simcoe County.  And thank you to everyone at the City of Barrie and the Department of Culture who encourage us, challenge us and work with us to make Barrie a better place in which to work and create.

Wishing each of you a very Happy & Prosperous New Year and may 2014 bring you opportunity, growth and joy.   We look forward to connecting with you often throughout the year and establishing new partnerships while fortifying the existing ones.

3TY… (Thank you, thank you, thank you)
