Request for Expression of Interest
Public Art Commission for Downtown Fredericton
Deadline:  March 4, 2013

Artists (or teams) are invited to respond to a Request for Expressions of Interest to provide a site specific (exterior) work of public art to be located in the area in front of the new Fredericton Convention Centre located in downtown Fredericton, New Brunswick.  The City of Fredericton in conjunction with Downtown Fredericton Inc. invites responses from professional artists who are residents of Canada, with a proven track record of working on public art commissions or projects similar in scope.

The public art commission will be awarded through a Two Stage Jury Process.  Stage One involves creation of a short list of artists (based on qualifications) invited to submit design proposals.  Stage Two will involve a review of proposals and selection of artist.  See general timeline below.

Budget:  $60,000 inclusive of all expenses including taxes, materials, fabrication, delivery, artist fees and installation.

Theme:  open; although some form of relationship to the culture, vitality, history or geography of Fredericton in some capacity is welcome.
